About Inspired Chapter
It Started With Something I Needed to Understand.
Long before Inspired Chapter became a publishing and intellectual property company, it began with me trying to make sense of my own life.
I grew up learning to make myself small, invisible, unproblematic, and perfectly palatable for everyone else.
Those lessons followed me.
Into relationships. Into motherhood. Into grief. Into perfectionism and people-pleasing. Into the way I spoke to myself and the way I believed I had to move through the world.
Eventually, I reached a point where I understood something both incredibly simple and incredibly difficult:
The only person I could change was me.
So I started there.
I gave myself a year to deliberately change how I thought, how I spoke to myself, how I treated myself, and how I moved through my own life.
There was no grand plan for what would come from it.
I certainly wasn't thinking about intellectual property.
I was just one tired woman trying to figure some shit out.
Then I Started Writing About It.
The more I learned, questioned, practiced, and experienced, the more I wrote.
Self-love. Worthiness. Boundaries. Rest. Capacity. Growth. Healing. The body. The inner voice. The pressure we put on ourselves. The things we call motivation that are sometimes just criticism wearing nicer clothes.
And somewhere along the way, the writing became more than something I was doing for myself.
It became work I could share.
That work became articles.
Resources.
Books.
Guided tools.
Essays.
Content systems.
And eventually, an entire body of intellectual property built around helping people understand themselves and care for themselves a little differently.
That's Inspired Chapter.
What Inspired Chapter is Today
Inspired Chapter is an independent publishing and intellectual property company founded by writer and creator Misty Gebhart.
We create, develop, publish, and license original work centered around self-love, wellbeing, personal growth, and the realities of being human.
Some ideas become books.
Some become essays.
Some become practical resources.
Some become complete content systems that wellness professionals and businesses can license and use with the people they serve.
And some are still becoming something—which is exactly what you'll find over in Fresh Ink.
The format isn't the point.
The idea is.
And when an idea is worth exploring, I want to give it the form that allows it to do the most good.

It's the workbench.
Not everything there has become something yet.

I'm Misty Gebhart—a writer, creator, publisher, and the person behind Inspired Chapter.
I've been writing about self-love, wellbeing, and personal growth for more than a decade, but I've never been particularly interested in pretending life can be reduced to five easy steps and a motivational quote.
I'm interested in what happens in real life.
When growth is slow.
When healing is inconvenient.
When you're tired.
When you know better and still don't do better.
When you're learning how to care for yourself without turning self-care into another damn thing you're failing at.
That's the territory I write in.
I believe thoughtful work can help people see themselves differently.
I believe useful ideas deserve to be used.
And I believe one good piece of intellectual property can live more than one life.
It can become a book.
A conversation.
A resource.
A licensed system.
A sentence someone carries around for years.
My job is to create the work and give it somewhere to go.
